  Santa Monica Beach and the Palisades Park are characterized by the typical californian leisure activities: jogging ... skating … surfing … walking … cycling. both areas are separated by an infrastructural and topographical cut: the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and the 18m high cliff of Santa Monica. the idea of the project is to create a new connection between beach and park, to develop something which dissolves the differences between a building or a bridge, construction or form towards a coherent structure which extends the possibilities of movement the beginning was a series of studies concerning the possibilities of the site in relation to the bridge-house concept. these studies were as well investigating the idea of moving structures and moved structures. the ideas about movement raised from the picture of the entertainment facilities on the Santa Monica Pier like the roller coaster or the giant wheel.
